The word "career" implies a certain about of business acumen or savvy, but that doesn't mean the administrative side of your music career has to be boring or that it stiffles your creativity. In fact, the business side of your music career requires a great deal of creativity and imagination.
The Classical Guitar Career Build and Launch programs, combined, help you establish a solid foundation for the business side of your music career. The third program listed below is a service for those professional musicians who are already established but need guidance regarding a specific area of their music business or career. Regardless of the kind of music career you wish to pursue, there are certain compenents that you need to have in place if you wish to establish a fulfilling and sustainable career. As an aspiring classical guitarist, you have been trained to play, teach, compose, arrange, et cetera, but chances are you have not been taught how to build your music business. Yes, you read that correctly. As a solo, independent musician, you are a business! The making of music may be an art, but making a living from your music is truly a business.
Similar to building a classical guitar, where you need to have plans, select the woods to use for the top, back, sides, and neck, plane and sand the wood to the proper thickness, make the sound hole, rosette, and bracing for the top, constructing a mold to keep the different components in place while they are glued together, bending the sides, assembling the body, preparing the neck, building the fretboard and attaching it to the neck, and building and attaching the bridge, each component must be created before they are assembled.
The Classical Guitar Career Build (CGCB) program is designed to help you construct the major components of your music business so that you have a strong foundation on which to build your music career.
If you have the basic elements of your music business in place, it is time to step out onto the stage and into the spotlight. It is time to dive in with passion and purpose, intelligence and dedication, and take your career to that next level.
Unfortunately, most musicians do not know how to get their music career off the ground in an effective and efficient manner.Usually, most artists have only a vague idea as to what to do to launch their career and at best make half-hearted efforts at random acts hoping something will work.
Having dreams and setting goals can be very exciting, especially when we share our musical aspirations with our colleagues, friends, and family. However, if we don't take concrete action and take specific steps to to turn these dreams into reality, they then become an extremely heavy burden.
We make those burdens lighter by taking action.
The Classical Guitar Career Launch program (CGCL) is designed to help you transition into the professional world. For a detailed description and outline of the program that will guide you launch your music career, click on the link below.

In today's online world, there are so many programs out there that promise you the world. All you have to do is buy this or that particular program and you will have the life of your dreams, or at least the shiny object that you are chasing. The scary truth is that only between 3% and 12% of individuals complete these online programs. I know!! Unfortunately, all of these programs omit one very critical component in the equation—one that you absolutely cannot leave out—and that component is... YOU!
I wish I could guarantee that you will be successful in your musical endeavours after completing any of these programs—or all of them—but the truth is, much of your success will also be dependent upon your music and/or music-related services that you create. However, I can promise you that without a solid foundation on which to build your music business and grow your career, it will be incredibly difficult—if not impossible—to realise the professional success and personal fulfillment you aspire to.
Of course, you can do any of the courses on their own and receive a wealth of practical information that you can put into immediate use, but when the Classical Guitar Career Build and Career Launch programs are taken in tandem, they provide an incredibly strong base from which to build your music business and grow your career. By completing both of these foundational courses, you will not only know what it is to be a professional musician, you will also learn to avoid the pitfalls that many, many independent classical and acoustic fingerstyle guitarists fall into.
In order for you to get the most out of these courses, they have been designed to be incredibly practical, each stage accompanied with projects for you to complete. In other words, these courses are concerned with the actual doing or use of something rather than with simply theory, information, or ideas.
My promise to you is to provide you with everything I possibly can to empower you to accomplish your music dreams. Through these programs, you will receive the information, the steps, the support, and even a community of fellow musicians to help you realise your music business goals and career aspirations.
“Don was a teacher of mine for private lessons throughout senior high and I was a student of his at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. I've always ranked him as one of my greatest teachers whether it be music or any avenue of life as his lessons were universal. He knew if you weren't pushing your game to it's true potential and he wasn't afraid to let you know. . . . Don, I'm sure you don't know how often your lessons run through my head or what stuck out in the short couple of years as your student but I really appreciate your work.”
